Memorial for Abdul Kalam to be inaugurated on July 27

Synopsis

An amount of Rs.15 Cr was allocated for the construction. Saplings and tress were brought from Rajahmundry,Andhra which were planted around the memorial hall. Granite from Jaipur is likely to provide a shining texture to the building.

The construction work of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam memorial is soon to be completed.

The former president Abdul Kalam was buried in a place called Peikarumbu near Rameswaram of Ramanathapuram district.  Since the state government was dragging the process to grant fund for the construction of the memorial hall and the knowledge center, the construction was not initiated for a long time.

Later the construction was initiated by the Defence Research and Development Organization with an assigned budget of Rs.15 cr  on 15 October. The memorial is to be built on 2.4 acres of land. 

Green Hall: In order to complete the construction process before 7 July, the defence officials are working day and night for the last 8 months. They are hurrying the process because of the plan to open the memorial hall during Abdul Kalam’s second year death anniversary on 27 July. 

As a part of Kalam Green Project, saplings and seeds were brought from Rajahmundry of Andhra and it was planted around the memorial hall. 

Granite from Jaipur makes the building shine brightly. In order to add more beauty to the building the decorative lights are being fitted.

This memorial hall would be inaugurated  by the Prime Minister Modi on 27 July.
