The Indian Homeopathic Medical Association demanded that they should be allowed to treat the Nipah infected patients.
The Homeopathy doctors have claimed that a medicine used by them can cure Nipah virus infection. But the government has rejected this claim. The Health Department does not know of any medicine in homoeopathy that can kill the Nipah virus, said reports.
The Indian Homeopathic Medical Association demanded that they should be allowed to treat the Nipah infected patients. Health department secretary Rajeev Sadanandan told that the doctors had not informed the government that they have medicine to treat the Nipah infection.
The homoeopathy Association has requested the state Health Minister KK Shailaja to allow their doctors to examine the patients who have been tested positive for Nipah.
But state Health Secretary Rajiv Sadanandan told the media today (June 3) that he has no information on this development. He also added that The Homeopathy department is directly under him, and so far no one has approached with a medicine for Nipah infection.
Sadanandan said that out of the 18 positive cases, four were infected with the virus even though they never were in direct contact with the patients.
The circulation of false news on social media is creating more problems than the Nipah virus itself resulting in panic. The Kozhikode police have already arrested six people for circulating false news in this regard on social media.
