
A Keralite girl had a miraculous escape after she fell off a moving train into a lake near Kollam on Wednesday.
The Thiruvananthapuram native, who is a student at an engineering college in Kollam, fell into the lake when the Kollam-Kanyakumari passenger train was passing over the Paravur bridge.
The girl was returning home from college early as she was feeling under the weather. She was near the washbasin when the train entered the bridge with a jolt, and fell off through the open door, according to reports.
A man who was standing near the bridge saw the girl falling off and shouted aloud. He managed to catch the attention of some fishermen near the shore, who went into the lake and saved the girl.
The girl has been rushed to the government taluk hospital in Nedungolam and her family in Thiruvananthapuram have been informed of the accident. She doesn't have any serious injuries.
