Kerala photographer arrested for sexually harassing actress after promising roles

The Kochi police has arrested a man for allegedly sexually harassing a young aspiring actress and extorting several lakhs from her on the promise of stardom.

Winson Lonappan, a Kodungallur native, has been nabbed by the Ernakulam North police on charges of cheating and sexual abuse. He has also been accused of swindling Rs 33 lakh from the woman, citing several reasons including performing black magic to help her land the lead role in a big film. 

The complainant, an American Malayalee and a dentist by profession, is currently acting in a Tamil film.

Winson is understood to have worked as an assistant still photographer in a recent Mollywood film, starring a renowned young actor in the lead.
