Kerala govt to give pension to circus artistes

Synopsis

Rs 1.13 crore has been sanctioned for pension to former circus artistes Thalassery is considered to be the cradle of Indian circus

The Kerala government has decided to provide pension to former circus artistes in the state and allocated Rs 1.13 crore for the same.

 

The decision was taken after a group of circus artistes met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during his recent visit to Kannur and appraised him of their plight.

 

"An order has been issued sanctioning a total of Rs. 1,13,20,000 for giving pension to former circus artistes," read an official statement.

 

Kannur's Thalassery is considered to be the cradle of Indian circus.
