It is now understood Udayabhanu, who is absconding, is planning to move the Supreme Court in his attempt to gain anticipatory bail.

The police had earlier named Udayabhanu as the seventh accused in the case related to the murder of Rajeev, a real estate broker, in Chalakudy in September.

The investigation team allegedly found that Udayabhanu gave a quotation for the murder after a dispute arose between him and Rajeev over a land deal they were both part of.

The police, who arrested four persons directley involved in the murder, also found evidence to prove that Udayabhanu and the assailants were in the same mobile tower location during the days after the murder.

Meanwhile, the police on Tuesday raided Udayabhanu's house in Thrippunithura near Kochi as they tried to trace him and speed up his arrest.
