A Kerala based Facebook collective has gifted a house to a young timber worker from Kottayam who was seriously injured in an accident.

Vineeth A Vishnu, who hails from Chingavanam, had to sell his house to afford medical care but now, he has a home near Thalayolaparambu, thanks to Facebook group Different Thinkers.

Vineeth, 28, was severely injured in a road accident over two years ago. He sustained injuries to his hip and leg and was bedridden for a year. Though his condition has improved of late, he has still not been able to walk without help and cannot go to work.

The youth had to sell his ancestral house and property in Chingavanam to afford treatment and the family then shifted to a rented house. That was when he came to know about Different Thinkers and joined the group.

Vineeth shared his plight with the group, which collected around Rs 1,50,000 for his medical needs last year. A member of group, who wishes to be anonymous, also paid his house's rent every month.

Finally, the group managed to purchase four cents of land and a house for Rs 10 lakh in Maravanthuruthu near Thalayolaparambu. The key to the house was handed over to Vineeth last week.

Different Thinkers has around 97,000 members from different parts of the country, and the collective help people in distress often.
