Post arrest Facebook fan groups of Dileep vanish overnight

Synopsis

Several fan groups vanished just a night after the arrest of Dileep The support group with #ISupportDileep hashtag is no more available on FB Those still supporting him are merely asking to give him the benefit of the doubt till conviction

Dileep, once called people's actor, is now facing public rage and even his admirers have adopted a critical stance against him. Though his fans had uploaded the pictures of the actor, with the #ISupportDileep hashtag, soon after speculations on his involvement in actress attack case.

However, the support group with a huge fan base itself vanished after the actor got arrested on charges of conspiracy. It is to be noted that the fan groups are no more interested in supporting the actor since his arrest, except for paltry comments by lone supporters.

Those still supporting him are merely asking to give him the benefit of the doubt till conviction. The stance taken by the film fraternity itself is proof of the strong evidence against him, says those who stand for the actress, who was abused on the moving car.

Some of the fan pages of Dileep vanished overnight, just hours after his arrest. As per Times of India report, one of the forum members said that "we are not blind to worship an actor like the fan communities in other states."

The mentality of the mob was evident even on the night after his arrest when they vandalised Dileep's restaurant 'Dhe Puttu' in Edappally, Kochi, and Kozhikode. Even police failed to stop the mob as they thronged the food point and smashed the glasses and destroyed furniture. People also burned effigies of Innocent, Dileep and Ganesh Kumar across the state.

The mob also carried out marches to Kavya Madhavan's boutique in Kakkanad and the residences of Dileep, in Aluva, and Mukesh, in Kollam.

People thronged before Aluva sub-jail and Angamaly magistrate court, on Wednesday as the actor was produced before the court and the crowd began booing on seeing him.
