The probe into the case related to attack on the house of an advocate who filed a petition against Dileep has taken a new turn. The police are probing the role of people who are close to the actor.
Advocate K C Santhosh, who had accused the actor of land encroachment for constructing a theatre complex in Chalakkudy, complained that miscreants attacked his house a day after the actor got out on bail.
The advocate complained that stones and firecrackers were hurled at his house.
Santhosh was Dileep's childhood friend and had helped the actor on various occasions including his marriage with Manju Warrier. The advocate said that the goonda's arrived at the place in two cars.
Police are investigating the role of two persons, both natives of Desham. On checking their mobile tower location, it was found that the duo was near the house of the advocate at the time of the attack. They were on the forefront to celebrate the bail of the actor.

Meanwhile, Dileep surrendered his passport before the court on Saturday evening. He reached the court by 4 pm and submitted the passport before Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate in the chamber.
Advocate Philip T Varghese, the junior of Dileep's counsel B Raman Pillai, was also with the actor. As a bail condition, the High Court had ordered the actor to surrender the passport before the magistrate court within seven days of getting out on bail.
