'Dead' Kerala woman, who came alive in mobile mortuary, dies again at hospital

An ailing woman from Idukki, who was kept in a mobile mortuary for some time by relatives who presumed her dead, has now breathed her last. 

Relatives of the woman identified as Ratnam, 51, a plantation worker from Vandanmedu, had presumed her dead on Wednesday morning after seeing no movement in her body. They had also shifted her to a mobile mortuary for some time.

However, some neighbours noticed her fingers moving and found her foaming from the mouth, following which police was immediately informed. Ratnam was immediately shifted to the ICU of a private hospital in Kattappana, where she died on Wednesday night, the police said. 

The woman had been undergoing treatment for jaundice since the past three months at the Velammal Medical College Hospital in Madurai. The doctors there had discharged her on Tuesday, saying nothing more could be done to save her.
