Jesus Christ statue with SFI flag sparks outrage on social media

Synopsis

The image is widely circulated on Facebook It can be seen that Jesus Christ has SFI flag instead on cross KSU alleges that this was done by SFI after they won college election

A photoshopped image of Jesus Christ holding the flag of Students' Federation of India (SFI) has sparked an outrage on social media.

The image is widely circulated on Facebook. It can be seen that the statue of Jesus Christ, used in the image, is the one on the premises of SB College, Changanassery, and instead of the cross Christ is holding the white flag of SFI.

The activists of Kerala Student's Union (KSU), the Congress outfit, alleged that the picture is made by SFI who won college union elections. They did such an act as they had gone blind by the victory, KSU said.

However, SFI leadership claimed that they have no role in the incident. "The photo was not posted by a student of the college. It was some other person who did the act. We also don't know why the image is being portrayed as the statue on college premises," the SFI leaders said.
