A day after marriage, distressed bride attempts suicide for minor boyfriend

A day after marriage this Kerala girl attempted suicide to go with her boyfriend. Meanwhile, the husband said he is giving divorce to the wife and at last police had to interfere to ensure that she will be accepted by her lover's family.

The grand wedding took place on August 20 at the auditorium in Aruvikkara near Thiruvananthapuram. There was nothing unusual during the marriage, and as per rituals the bride and groom were to spend the night at her house. 

As the celebrations ended, the bride explained to the husband that she is in love with another person and wants to be with his boyfriend. The groom informed the matter to his family members who came to bride's house on next day morning. 

They forcefully took the girl to husband's house. Following this, the girl declared that she has a boyfriend and wants to live with him. Later, she attempted suicide by cutting vein. 
Following this, the husband gave talaq to the woman, and her family compensated for the losses incurred by groom's family for marriage. 

On August 21, girl's family filed a police complaint that the boyfriend cheated her after promising marriage. On the next day, police called the family members of the boyfriend and the girl to the station. However, the boy's family was not ready to accept the girl as their bride. 

The girl was adamant and said that she is not ready to live with any other person as she had spent time with the lover. Following this, police officers had a long discussion with both families which lasted till night. The boy's family, at last, agreed to conduct the marriage. 

However, the wedding will take place only after a year as the boy is only 20-years-old, a minor to enter into a valid marriage.
