By setting up 400 new towers, BSNL will introduce 4G network in all cities and prominent towns in the state, while towers in villages and all other areas will be upgraded from 2G to 3G.
The company is also planning to introduce WiFi hotspots in Kochi and possibly in a few other cities.
BSNL's new Rs 339 plan has been a huge hit, with 3,20,000 new customers subscribing to the service, revealed G Muraleedharan, the Principal General Manager of BSNL Ernakulam.
The 339 plan gives customers 2GB data daily, unlimited calls to all BSNL mobiles and landlines, and also 25 minutes of talk time to other networks everyday.
