Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that heavy rainfall will intensify in Kerala after a brief respite. Rainfall is expected to be particularly heavy on Thursday (Dec 12) and Friday (Dec 13). As a result, an orange alert has been issued for three districts—Idduki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur—for Thursday. Additionally, yellow alerts have been declared for the districts of Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad on Thursday.

The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for these districts. Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas, with the possibility of very heavy rainfall. The department predicts rainfall amounts ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm in 24 hours, indicating very heavy rain in these regions.
