The petition was rejected because there were no rare circumstances in the case. The court observed that Sandeep was only accused in the case and there was no finding against the officials.

2.15 PM: Man sentenced to 123 years in prison for sexually assaulting daughters in Malappuram

The court sentenced the father to 123 years in prison in the case of sexually assaulting his daughters. The Manjeri fast-track special court pronounced the verdict. The accused molested the children of eleven and twelve years of age. Apart from imprisonment, the court also slapped a fine of Rs 8.85 lakh to the accused. The judgment came in a case registered in 2022.

A controversy has erupted over not filing a case in the incident of the security breach of the Goa Governor's motorcade by the CPM leader's son. The incident took place at 8.30 pm near the Kozhikode Mofussil bus stand on Sunday. On Sunday, the Special Branch reported to City Police Commissioner Rajpal Meena that the car entering the Governor's convoy, which has Z category security, was a security breach.

12.00 PM: Dr Vandana Das murder case: HC dismisses plea seeking CBI probe

The Kerala High Court on Tuesday dismissed the plea seeking a CBI probe in Dr Vandana Das murder case. By dismissing a petition seeking a CBI investigation, the high court clarified that there was no deliberate lapse or crime on the part of the police officers who probed the case.

11.15 AM: Acid attack on youth in Kannur; accused arrested

The accused in the Kannur Cherupuzha case of acid attack on a youth was arrested. Cherupuzha police arrested Robin, a resident of Kampalur Peralam. Prapoil resident Rajesh was seriously injured in the acid attack on Sunday night. Rajesh was attacked at around 10 pm when he was in the verandah of his house. In the attack, the young man suffered burns on his stomach, face and hands. Rajesh, who was attacked, is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

10.45 AM: CPM leader's son drives into convoy of Goa Governor; fined Rs 1000

Controversy over not filing a case in the incident of driving a car into the convoy of the Governor of Goa. The car was driven by the son of CPM Kozhikode district secretary. The incident took place near Mofusal stand in Kozhikode last Sunday. Kasaba police fined Julius Nikitas but did not file a case. Asianet News received the receipt of Rs.1000 fine. Goa Raj Bhavan has confirmed the incident and said it will ask for an inquiry.

10.00 AM: DYFI leader arrested in POCSO case in Pathanamthitta

A DYFI leader was also arrested in the case of molestation of a Plus One student in Pathanamthitta. Perunad regional president Joel Thomas was arrested. Three people were arrested yesterday in the case. Information is coming out that more than 18 people will be accused in the case. Three people, including a KSEB employee and a minor, were arrested yesterday in the case. KSEB employee Mohammad Rafi, Sajjad and a minor were arrested. Based on the Child Welfare Committee's information, the police registered a case and started an investigation. There is also a complaint that nude pictures of the girl have been circulated.

9.20 AM: CM Pinarayi Vijayan to inaugurate additional 194 health centres today

The opening of urban public health centers marks a new chapter in the health sector of the state. On the pattern of rural public health centers, 380 centers are being opened in the municipalities. In the first phase, the Chief Minister will inaugurate 194 centers today. Today is also the inauguration of the CARE initiative for rare disease treatment.

Rumors have been put to rest in the incident of missing five members of the family, including a wife and two children. The entire family has returned to Kozhikode. Madhushetty's wife Swapna, children Poojashree (13) and Kavyashree (12) and Bharti (18) and Tej (17), sons of Swapna's sister, who live in Koorachund Erapamthod, Kozhikode, have been missing since the 20th of last month. Then on the 24th, Madhu Shetty filed a police complaint. The family returned to the Koorachund police station the other day when they noticed that the incident had become a big news. It is reported that they left the house due to a family quarrel. The police have taken statements from them and conducted a medical examination. 8.12 AM: Dr Vandana Das murder case: HC to consider plea seeking CBI probe today

The High Court on Tuesday will consider the plea seeking CBI investigation in Dr Vandana Das' murder case today. The plea was filed by her father Mohandas. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas will deliver the verdict. The petition pointed out that the current police investigation is not efficient and the investigation team is trying to protect the policemen who have failed. Meanwhile, the government is of the view that there is no need for a CBI investigation. The petition filed by the accused Sandeep seeking bail in the case will also be considered today.

8.04 AM: Vigilance gives clean chit to Vellappally Natesan in micro-finance fraud case

The Vigilance department has given a clean chit to SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan in a microfinance fraud case. The case was filed with Natesan as the first accused after a complaint by VS Achuthanandan. The Thrissur Vigilance Court has sent a notice to Achuthanandan asking him to inform if there is any objection to the closure of the case.VS complained that more than Rs 15 crores of irregularity was committed in the microfinance fraud committed by the SNDP union branches. The complaint also pointed out that the loan taken from the Backward Welfare Corporation was defrauded by giving it at a huge interest rate. The Vigilance, after conducting a preliminary investigation and finding the irregularity, filed a case against Vellappally as the first accused. Vigilance has investigated 124 cases across the state.
