2,087 Yoga practitioners to create Guinness Record for 'Shirashasana' in Bengaluru

Mass Shirshasana by 2,087 yoga practitioners to create Guinness Record. Aim to break the record held by Chennai last year. June 21 will be the D day as part of 3rd International Yoga Day.

As part of the 3rd International Yoga Day on June 21, as many as 2,087 yoga practitioners will stand on their heads in a Shirshasana for 30 seconds to create a Guinness Record.

The attempt is to break the record set by Chennai Yoga practitioners last year. A practice session was held on Sunday in front Vidhana Soudha. Earlier in the day at 6.30 am, Governor V R Vala flagged off to mark the beginning of the exercise and wished the participants.

Members of Yuva Gangotri, S-Vyasa and Health Department jointly initiated this exercise. At the practice session they broke the previous record held by Chennai yoga practitioners. On June21 they will do the official Shirshasana. The Shirshasana is considered beneficial to keep the mind and body calm, reports Kannada Prabha.

At a function held later, Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation, DV Sadananda Gowda said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has enhanced India’s pride by propagating Yoga globally. Health Minister KR Ramesh Kumar, Legislative Council Chairman DH Shankaramurthy and yoga gurus H R Nagendra and Vachananand Swamy were present.
