Why did BJP leader Eshwarappa take 4,000 people on pilgrimage?

Synopsis

Eshwarappa takes members of Stree Shakti Group on pilgrimage This was not the first time that he arranged such a tour Political circles see it as an exercise to lure voters

Eshwarappa had arranged pilgrimage for 4,000 members of Stree Shakti Sangha. They visited famous temples in Banavasi, Sirsi, Udupi, Murudeshwar, Kollur and Anegudde in 80 KSRTC buses. In fact, Eshwarappa claimed that this was not the first time that he arranged tour for the people of his constituency. Through the Sri Marikamba Micro Finance in Shivamogga, he always arranged such tours, he said, reports Kannada Prabha.

But it is a known fact that Stree Shakti members are the strong votebank in the state. This is an exclusive women's group set up in villages to empower women, economically.

Recently, Eshwarappa had taken the group to much controversial Rayanna Brigade convention in Haveri. He had come under severe criticism for associating with the brigade and was pulled up by the party boss, Amit Shah too. But Eshwarappa's generous gift like tours has generated lot of buzz in political circles.
