NRI Entrepreneur Ashwath Hegde is only 24-year-old and already making waves as the man on a mission to free the earth from plastic menace. Hailing from Ballanja near Belthangady in Mangaluru, Ashwath conceptualised 'EnviGreen' where the bags are manufactured from natural products like tapioca starch granuels.

These bags are non-toxic - they cause no harm even if one swallows by mistake. With a corporate office in Bengaluru, he operates from Qatar. Another super achiever from Bengaluru is Sharath Gaikwad, India's first Paralympic swimmer.

Sharath was born with a deformed hand but that did not stop him from testing rough waters. In the initial years, he was trained by trainer John Christopher, who spotted him swimming during a school competition. In 2009, IWAS World Games, he won seven medals including gold and silver. In 2010, he became the first Indian to qualify for the London Olympics for disabled.

In 2014 Asian Games, Sharath broke PT Usha's record for most number of medals by an Indian with six medals in multi-discipline events.
