Bengaluru's pimps have a new game: Girls lodged in PGs

After intensive police raids, Bengaluru's pimps have a new idea.  In a city packed with PGs for working women, a few 'different' women have also joined.  City police say they are tracking the pimps and will be cracking down soon. 

The girls are later sent to houses and hotels to meet clients. All of these operations happen via the internet. Asianet Newsable uncovered another startling fact. These pimps are using WhatsApp to send photos of the girls to customers and fix up a meeting place, before sending the girls.

"Our girls are very young are very attractive. Once a customer orders, he shall be forced to call her again and again. We were earlier operating at a rented house in Horamavu, but it is risky as police are raiding, hence we have put girls into PGs. The girls are told to get the cash before entering the hotel or homes of customers and call one of our boys. Once the payment is cleared we ask our girls to 'cooperate,"  said Asif Khan, a pimp.

The PGs are selected close to ATM machines as the pimps want customers to withdraw money and give them cash, before engaging the girls.  As the cops routinely conduct raids in Majestic and surrounding hotels to crackdown on illegal activities, pimps prefer customers to book service apartments or hotels in posh layouts like Koramangala, Kammanahalli, Banaswadi and other place.

ACP, Women and Narcotics Wing of Central Crime Branch, Siddalingappa gave assurances that a few of the numbers of such pimps and brothels were under the scanner and they would soon catch the accused.

"The pimps are now working out on 'out call' basis only, which means the customers will have to arrange the place. The girls are purposely housed in PGs as there will be so many other working women, the police will not suspect," he said.
