Harassment by the husband for years resulted in a 32-year-old woman taking her life by allegedly hanging herself to death in Mysuru.

The victim has been identified as Sujitha. She was married to Praveen and resided at Hebbalu Second Stage in Mysuru. Sujitha was working as a teacher at a private school. Praveen was said to be addicted to alcohol and ganja.

Sujitha and Praveen fell in love. After some time, both decided to get married. Everything was like a sweet dream for Sujitha for some days. But as years passed, Praveen started showing his true colours and started demanding dowry from Sujitha and her family.

Praveen even picked up a fight with Sujitha as they did not have a child even after three years of marriage. This fight became a usual phenomenon.

Sujitha who hailed from Coorg was found hanging from the roof on late night on Friday. Sources said that Praveen informed about Sujitha's death to her parents over the phone.

Sujitha's parents have alleged that Praveen was drinking alcohol with his friends on Friday. They have also alleged that Praveen has killed their daughter and has hanged her to make it look like a suicide. They have filed a case in the Hebbalu Police Station.
