A man got drunk, came home and killed his 24-year-old wife by strangling her.
Nagaraju and Gayathri were married for over five years and had two children. But Nagaraju doubted the fidelity of his wife and was fighting with her every day. The couple lived at a house at Vatadahosahhalli in Gauribidanur.Nagaraju was working as a driver of a TATA ACE vehicle.
After putting up with the husband who used to fight with her, especially after drinking decided to go back to her parent's house.
Though Gayathri tried to clear her stand many times in this regard, Nagaraju was not convinced. He would again come home at night drunk and pick up a fight with her.
Gayathri left his home and went to live in her parent's house. But her parents and relatives convinced her to go back to the husband's house. They advised her that once the girl is married the husband's house is permanent.
She was sent back to Nagaraju's house on Friday. But as usual, Nagaraju came home drunk, and in a fit of rage, he strangled Gayathri and killed her.
After killing her, he went to the Gauribidanur Police Station and surrendered before the police.
