A hotel in Devanahalli had a shock for its customers and owners  A dead body was discovered in the sump, a.k.a underground water tank of the hotel  But the restaurant had already used the water all day long to cook, serve customers  The body was discovered when a tanker came in to refill the empty sump

In a shocking report, it has come to light that a restaurant in Devanahalli might have accidentally put many of its customers at serious health risk, if not mental distress. While the restaurant ran its affairs as usual over the past week, the management was unaware that a dead body floated in its water tank.

The establishment had used the same water for cooking, and worse, customers were also served drinking water drawn from the same tank. The ghastly incident only came to light on Thursday, when a tanker was called to fill up the empty sump.

Bhojraj, the owner of Shanti Sagar Hotel at the new bus stand in Devanahalli, was in for a shock when the water tanker boy came and informed him about the dead body in the empty tank, reports Kannada Prabha.

The body belonged to one Krishnappa (37) of Bidaluru, who had joined work in the hotel just 20 days ago. He had not gone home since Wednesday. Worried, his wife had come looking for him at the hotel. But Bhojraj had sent her way, stating that he did not know about Krishnappa's whereabouts.

Apparently, no one knows how Krishnappa drowned in the tank. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
