The Akhanda Karnataka Chalanachitrodyama Parishat, president Teshi Venkatesh has alleged that the Regional Censor Board chief Shrinivasappa is unnecessarily harassing Kannada film makers, directors, producers and technicians, reports Kannada Prabha.
Speaking at a press meet at Press Club, Venkatesh alleged that Srinivasappa is quoting non-existent rules and harassing Kannada film-makers. The matter has been brought to the notice of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce but nothing has come of it. Producers have to wait as many as 658 days for a film to be certified, whereas in neighbouring states it takes just one week, he said. This is creating hurdles to Kannada films. The Kannada films of young directors are making news at national and international levels. Yet, Srinivasappa is obstructing to clear the movies. He warned of severe protest, if he fails to mend his ways.
