Now, IT trouble for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah?

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah could be in trouble as the Income Tax department has taken up a complaint lodged against him on rising in illegal assets. Acting on a complaint registered by RTI activist Ramamurthy Gowda, the IT sleuths have reportedly sought more documents from the complainant to conduct the investigation.

RTI activist Ramamurthy has alleged in the 1638-page complaint that since Siddaramaiah assumed the office as the chief minister, there has been a considerable rise in his properties registered illegally in his family and friends' families. He had sought the IT officials to conduct the investigation.

With the IT officials writing him to seeking some more documents to support his claim indicate that the IT sleuths have taken up the investigation into the incident.

In fact, this is not the first time that the activist Ramamurthy Gowda taking on Siddaramaiah. Earlier too, he had complained against the diamond-studded Rs 70 lakh worth Hublot watch worn by the chief minister. Apart from Ramamurthy, two more complaints were filed against it to the Anti-Corruption Bureau. However, the ACB gave the clean chit to Siddaramaiah in the Hublot watch case.

Recently, energy minister DK Shivakumar too was raided by the Income Tax officials in Karnataka.
