Synopsis

"Nanu Gauri (I am Gauri)"  this is the new slogan of the people opposing Gauri Lankesh's murder  Around 50,000 people would be chanting the Nanu Gauri slogan on September 12, to stage protest against the brutal murder Thousands of people gather in Bengaluru and try to pressurise the government to arrest the killers of Gauri

"Nanu Gauri (I am Gauri)"  this is the new slogan of the social activists, left wing ideologue, Dalits, oppressed class and people from various walks of life, following the death of journalist Gauri Lankesh. She was killed outside her house at 8 PM on September 5 by unidentified assailants. Around 50,000 people would be chanting the Nanu Gauri slogan on September 12 to put pressure on the government to arrest the killers of writer Gauri Lankesh.

Human Rights activist T Narasimha Murthy who had worked and participated in a number of protests along with Gauri Lankesh said, they can kill Gauri, but they cannot erase her "thoughts".

"Over 50,000 supporters are expected to gather in Bengaluru who will send out a strong message to fascists and intellectually corrupt organisations who are behind such killings," he said.

Echoing similar sentiments, social activist Neela said, "The country is in danger as such killings are continuing. There is no breakthrough in case of writer Dhabolkar's murder. Similarly, MM Kalburgi was shot at two years ago, and his killers are still at large. The people of weaker sections, activists,  intellectuals, Dalits, minorities and people cutting across religion and profession will come together and join hands in staging a mass protest against the killing of brave journalist Gauri Lankesh. A strong message should be sent out to evil forces that they cannot get away by committing such heinous crimes".
