
Ganesh Mamaji was an army man and also a panchayat member. But he turned a murderer as he killed two men in a fit of rage. Convicted for his crime, he spent 14 years in jail and now has been released following good behaviour.
He is one of the prisoners among 79, who have been released by the government of Karnataka. Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara announced the release of prisoners on good behaviour.
Prisoners from Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, Vijayanagar, Ballari and Dharwad jails were released.
Ganesh joined army after completing Class 10. He got retired from the service in 1993. After this, he contested for panchayat elections and won as a member.
But, one day, in a fit of rage, he committed a murder and was convicted for life term sentence. He started regretting his action inside the jail.
So, he diverted his mind towards education and graduated with History, Economics and Political Science.
His advice to the people is to not to give into anger, whatever the situation is.
