The Congress-sponsored nationwide bandh had a cascading effect on the already loss-making Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).

According to an official release from KSRTC, the State-run bus transport corporation had to cancel 3,953  bus schedules to Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangaluru, Hubballi, Belgaum and other places on Monday. Due to this, a total revenue loss of Rs 5.34 crore was incurred.

Initially, the bus service from Bengaluru to Mangaluru got affected as some miscreants pelted stones at Bantwal to make it look like the agitation was in full swing. Following a complaint from the bus driver, plying of buses across the State was stopped.
