Badami was a constituency that Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah wanted to choose as the second seat to contest from; the first being Chamundeshwari. Badami is in North Karnataka and is heavily populated by Lingayats and Kurubas. Post the Lingayat card, Siddaramaiah was contemplating having Badami as his second seat. While the decision is temporarily suspended, the Congress list has named Devaraj Patil. Will the Congress be able to cash in on the Lingayat move here ahead of Karnataka Elections 2018?
