Film producer and owner of Lahari Music Company Velu, popularly called 'Lahari' Velu is joining BJP on Wednesday in the presence of State BJP president BS Yeddyurappa, reports Kannada Prabha.
On Ganesh Chathurthi day, Velu went to Yeddyurappa’s house and held talks with him for an hour. At the end of the talk, it was decided that Velu would join BJP Party, reports Kannada Prabha. Velu is the close friend of former minster Kumar Bangarappa. However, Velu has not disclosed if he wishes to contest for the election.
Considering BJP national president Amit Shah's statement where in he said that the party would prefer to field new faces, the BJP may consider giving ticket to Velu, reports Kannada Prabha quoting sources. Velu told Kannada Prabha that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inspired him to join BJP.
