CM Siddaramaiah and George took commission worth Rs 14.5 cr for garbage compactor and sweeping machines: NR Ramesh

Synopsis

Fresh allegations against CM and George. BJP leader suspects CM and George took Rs 14.5 crores as the kickback to facilitate garbage management equipment company. Criminal complaint filed against CM, George, BBMP official and sales manager of TPS Infrastructure Limited at Lokayukta and ACB.

BJP spokesperson NR Ramesh and has once again launched a scathing attack against CM Siddaramaiah and Bengaluru Development Minister KJ George alleging that both took a 'commission' of Rs 14.5 crore from TPS Infrastructure Limited, a company that deals with mechanical sweeping machines to facilitate the company in selling their product at an alleged higher value.

"According to the government order, 25 compactors and nine sweeping machines have been purchased. The TPS company has been paid over Rs 40 crores to ensure there is no garbage and dust. These same machines cost about Rs 65 lakh, but the BBMP has paid over  Rs 1.5 crores per machines. Since the files have been cleared by the Bengaluru Development Minister KJ George and CM Siddaramaiah, I suspect the extra money of over Rs 14 crores would have reached them and hence I have filed a criminal case against them at Lokayukta and ACB," said NR Ramesha and added since these machines are lying in various BBMP sheds this is a waste of public money of Rs 40 crores.

He said the government has also passed another Government Order (GO) for purchases of garbage collecting vehicles by investing Rs 157 crores and Rs 447 crores for setting up of waste processing units. "For the Rs 604-crore project, the government is hoping to take Rs 100 crore as the kickback” alleged Ramesh.

Suspecting solid waste management (SWM) officials hand in the dealings Ramesh said the complaint against Lokesh, Executive Engineer, SWM wing and Mahadev Bhat, sales manager TPS infrastructure limited name was also mentioned in the complaint  about alleged murky dealings.

"I have filed a cheating and misuse of funds case at the ACB whereas my friend and social activist Ganesh Singh has filed the complaint at Lokayukta," Ramesh added.
