The Bengali mother living in JP Nagar, Bengaluru killed her seven-year-old daughter by throwing her from the fourth-floor.
Swathi killed her daughter Ishika, who was hearing and speech impaired. After killing the daughter, she tried to flee but was caught by the neighbours and was tied to an electric pole till the police arrived. When questioned about the murder she said, "She was my daughter. I did kill her. It is none of your business. Who are you to question what is happening in my private life."
She is also said to have added that, "She (daughter) was behaving like a mentally ill person. I tried to change her and improve her, but she just wouldn't change. So I killed her. You have no right to ask me about it."
This response from a mother, who is also said to be under depression, is shocking.
In fact, the first time she threw the child, she was still breathing. So, she carried her up to the fourth floor again and threw her the second time, and the child breathed her last.
Swathi had separated from her husband some time ago and was raising the child as a single mother.
