Karnataka cops arrest Odisha and Bihar youths, seize 8.5 Kilos of gaanja

Synopsis

Police posed as potential weed buyers, approached the sellers and caught them red-handed

Bengaluru police arrested four persons, hailing from Bihar and Odisha, for selling weed. Based on a tip-off that few Hindi speaking youths are selling some kind of drugs at Bommanahallli near Electronic City area in Bengaluru South East division, police posed as potential buyers, approached the seller and caught them red-handed.

According to the senior police officer, the youths stashed weed in a gunny bag and sold them in grams to potential buyers.  A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act have been registered.

Janardhan, 33, Chetan Sharma,  46, Bisambar Mandal, 34 and Dhaneshwar Behra, 46, have been sent to judicial custody. During the investigation, the police realised that Bisambar Mandal, a native of Bihar, was earlier arrested in 2015 for a similar offence.
