In yet another blow to JD(S) party, seven rebel leaders headed by Chamrajpet MLA B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan met Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi along with CM Siddaramaiah on Thursday and expressed thier willingness to joing Congress at the earliest and contest the polls from their respective constituency in 2018 assembly elections.

A source close to Zameer Ahmed Khan said that the rebel leaders will be admitted to the Congress once the party high command takes a decision. "The JDS rebel leaders will be inducted into the Congress in December or in January. Congress president Sonia Gandhi will welcome new members into the party," said the source.

Confirming the same to Newsable Khan said that the meeting of JDS rebel MLAs with Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was fruitful. The young leader is full of energy and a source of inspiration. Based on the meeting and the development, the induction will be held in a few months time, mostly by December.

The rebel leaders do not want to resign and join Congress immediately as the move is likely to hit back. The leaders will continue in JDS till December. 

Soon after the photos of rebel leaders along with Rahul Gandhi and Karnataka Congress in-charge K C Venugopal went viral, JDS President H D Kumaraswamy hinted at breaking the ruling alliance at Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.

"The authority of standing committee chairpersons has lost all its value as the power is controlled by Bengaluru Development in-charge Minister K G George. Is there any in continuation with the alliance in BBMP?"  asked Kumaraswamy.
