
The Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Limited (KSIC) has announced 50 per cent discount on Mysore silk sarees on the occasion of Independence Day.
Mysore silk sarees are the pride of the state and have a special place in every woman's collection of elegant sarees. While it is not considered affordable, here's an initiative undertaken to make it available for the common people as well as to popularise the saree's presence. The KSIC will be selling these sarees for half rate on August 15.
Thus sarees costing Rs 9,000 will be sold for Rs 4,500. The offer will be available at two KSIC stalls each at Mysuru and Bengaluru and one stall each at Channapatna and Davanagere.
Usually during special occasions, a discount of 15% to 20% is given on Mysore silk sarees at these outlets. But for the first time on the occasion of Independence Day, an offer of 50% discount has been made.
The KSIC has kept aside 10,000 sarees to be sold with offers. The offer will not be valid once the target is met.
Festive sale:
On the occasion of Varamahalakshmi festival on August 24, a grand offer has been made. The Mysore silk sarees costing Rs 15,000 will be available for Rs 4,500 only.
