Women in Sandalwood are still not safe, claimed starlet Avantika Shetty of 'Rangi Taranga' fame while levelling serious charges against the producer of her yet-to-be-released movie, 'Raju Kannada Medium'. Narrating her plight which she said she would like to forget, Avantika wrote on her social media account that "She has become the yet another victim of the way women are objectified by certain kind of men in the (Sandalwood) industry." She accused the producer Suresh of maligning her character publicly for no fault of hers.
She wrote that although she has completed 90 per cent of the movie, she was unceremoniously dropped from the project.

She told couple of media houses that the producer allegedly would find a reason to call her to his room in the guise of discussing a scene. When she would meet him, he allegedly asked her why she was not "friendly" like others with him. "I am not yet sure what he meant by that. I always mind my work and nothing else," she told news channels.
However, the producer Suresh has denied the charges made by Avantika Shetty. Avantika Shetty has also lodged a case of cheque bounce against the producer with the court here.
