Geetha Vishnu case: Police block all escape routes for Vishnu, issue look-out notice at airports

Bengaluru police have issued a look-out notice to Geetha Vishnu, grandson of liquor baron and former MP Adikeshavalu, who is on the run after an accident last week. The police have issued alerts at the airports - countrywide - against the accused.

It may be recalled here that Vishnu had rammed his high-end BMW into a Maruti Omni at Jayanagar injuring six on September 28. It is reported that Geetha Vishnu was on a high at the time of the accident. The police have seized ganja worth crores of rupees from his vehicle. Geetha Vishnu had been absconding after he slipped out of Mallya Hospital when he was taken for a medical examination after the accident.

The police are grilling his family members in allegedly aiding his escape. It is reported that Jayanagar police have taken Vishnu's sister Chaitanya and Shivakumar, a hospital employee to custody. They are being grilled about Vishnu's whereabouts.

Also, a police team has left for Tirupati as there are rumours that Vishnu could be hiding in Tirupati. Television channels reported that Vishnu's mother allegedly offered a special puja in her son's name at the Tirumaleshwar temple. According to Kannada Prabha, another police team has been camping in Hyderabad and Kanchipuram looking for Vishnu. It was earlier reported that Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy had issued strict orders to the police not to come under any pressure and bring the guilty to the book.

The case has taken a serious turn after the police found ganja in his vehicle. The police are leaving no stone unturned in digging deep into the source of the ganja. It was alleged that senior actor Devaraj's son Prajwal Devaraj and Sandalwood actor Diganth Manchale were with Vishnu at the time of the accident. However, the police have denied these rumours. It has come to light that Prajwal Devaraj's younger brother Pranam Devaraj had partied with Vishnu on an ill-fated day and left in his own vehicle, after dinner. The police have issued summons to Pranam Devaraj too.

Meanwhile, Vishnu has applied for an anticipatory bail at the City Civil Court. The bail plea is expected to come up for hearing on Tuesday. However, it is highly unlikely that Vishnu would get the bail.
