Underground tunnel found under a collapsed house in Srirangapatna

Synopsis

The historical town of Srirangapatna a house floor caved in revealing a tunnel.  The floor of an old house belonging to Koladagudi Kumar caved in revealing a tunnel. It has been constructed using lime mortar and is wide enough for 3 persons to walk. It is suspected that it must have been built during the period of either Mysuru Wadiyars or Tipu Sultan.

The historical town of Srirangapatna continues to throw ancient surprises. On Monday, a house floor caved in revealing a tunnel, reported Kannada Prabha.

The floor of an old house belonging to Koladagudi Kumar caved in revealing a tunnel.  It has been constructed using lime mortar and is wide enough for three persons to walk. The tunnel goes a long way and after that is totally dark. Further inspection is on.

It is suspected that it must have been built during the period of either Mysuru Wodeyars or Tipu Sultan.
