Qamarul Islam was the Wakf minister in the Siddaramaiah government He had also served as the housing minister in the SM Krishna government He was one of the prominent minority leaders from Hyderabad Karnataka region

Former Congress minister and six-time legislator Qamarul Islam died of heart attack at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Monday. He was 69. Qamarul Islam had served as the Wakf minister in the Siddaramaiah government and was also the in-charge minister of Kalaburagi district.

He had also served as the housing minister in the SM Krishna government. Qamarul Islam was one of the prominent minority leader from Hyderabad Karnataka region.
