CRPF centre to be shifted from Bengaluru to Uttar Pradesh?

The Kannada Development Authority chairman has written to the Central Government urging not to shift the CRPF Centre. CRPF has 5 centres and the Bengaluru centre is one among them  catering to all the 5 southern states. The remaining 4 are located in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan. Shifting the CRPF to Uttar Pradesh will be an injustice to south. The State Government has already submitted a proposal to offering 100 acres in Mysuru and 200 acres in Shimoga for CRPF.  At such a juncture, to shift the Centre to Uttar Pradesh is uncalled for and hence the shifting order must be cancelled.

The Kannada Development Authority chairman has written to the Central Government urging not to shift the CRPF Centre at Taralu, Bengaluru, to Chandoli in Uttar Pradesh and to cancel the notification issued in this regard, reported Kannada Prabha.

The order issued by the Union Home Ministry is a grave injustice to the southern states. Hence the order must be stayed said Prof S G Siddaramaiah, Chairman, Kannada Development Authority in his letter to Union Home Minister Rajanath Singh. CRPF has 5 centres and the Bengaluru centre is one among them. It caters to all the 5 southern states. The remaining four are located in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan. Shifting the CRPF to Uttar Pradesh will be an injustice to Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

There are over 15,000 officials and security personnel from the State working in CRPF. It is rare for CRPF personnel to get an opportunity to work in their home state.  Their children are studying in local institutions and families are under treatment.

The sudden shifting of the centre to Uttar Pradesh will cause grave disturbances in their lives. Also the CRPF is functioning at a 220 acres area at Taralu. The State government has already submitted a proposal to offering 100 acres in Mysuru and 200 acres in Shivamogga for CRPF. At such a juncture, shifting the centre to Uttar Pradesh is uncalled for. Hence the shifting order must be cancelled and CRPF should continue to operate from Bengaluru, prof Siddaramaiah stated.
