Synopsis

Bengaluru businessman accused Bhavani Singh of taking Rs 1.5 crore for getting them a contract from the State government The business deal reportedly took place when Digvijay Singh was the party in-charge in Karnataka The ACMM court in Bengaluru has issued summons to Bhavani Singh

At a time when the Congress party is training its guns against Amit Shah's son, Jay Shah, its senior leader Digvijay Singh's son-in-law has been accused of cheating in a cheque bounce case.

Bhavani Singh, son-in-law of Digvijay Singh, former Karnataka in-charge, has been accused of cheating Balaji Electricals in Bengaluru. According to Suvarna News, Bhavani Singh had allegedly promised Balaji Electricals of getting them a contract from the State government worth Rs 1.5 crore. The owners of the company complained that Singh took Rs 1.15 crore from them and has never shown up again.

It is reported that Bhavani Singh allegedly took advantage of his father-in-law Digvijay Singh's clout in Karnataka as senior Singh was the Congress in-charge of Karnataka state. However, after he was replaced by Venugopal by the AICC to oversee party in the state, Bhavani Singh never showed up in Bengaluru. "He did not return Rs 1.15 crore. After so much pressure, Bhavani Singh gave us three cheques, but all of them have bounced," reports Suvarna News quoting owners of Balaji Electricals. With no other alternative, Balaji Electricals have knocked on the doors of the court.

The 22 ACMM court has now issued summons to Bhavani Singh, and he is yet to honour the notice, it is reported.

These reports have put the Congress party in the State in severe embarrassment.
