
Thousands thronged Bhagmandala to see Cauvery River emerging from the source on Tuesday at 12.32 pm. The time expected as usual on 'Tula Sankramana' was 12.33 pm but it happened a minute early amidst the Vedic chants by priests and devotees. As soon as the 'Theerthodbhava' occurred thousands jumped into the pond to offer their prayers. Police h had a tough time controlling the crowd. Chief priest Anantha Krishnachar and his team of 18 priests conducted 'Maha Sankalpa Pooja' and 'Mangalarati', reports Kannada Prabha.
At around 11.30 pm, it started drizzling and after the 'Teerthodbhava', it rained as usual. But the devotees celebrated the event.
