Bengaluru police arrests 5 for attacking Chinese national

5 arrested for assaulting, attempt to rob a Chinese citizen. He was waiting for a cab in front of his house and was attacked. He shouted for help and Hoysala patrolling staff came to help. Miscreants fled the scene and Hoysala staff got him treated at a hospital. Following clues from CCTV camera footage of the area police arrested.

Indira Nagar police have arrested 5 persons for assaulting and attempting to rob a Chinese citizen in the City, reported Kannada Prabha.

Yan from China has come to Bengaluru on work and is staying at Indiranagar. On July 26 he booked an Ola cab to go to J P Nagar at around 11 pm and was waiting for the cab in front of his house. A gang of 5 came on 2 bikes and tried to snatch Yan’s purse and mobile phone. He resisted and shouted for help.

One of the miscreants took out a knife and slashed his face. Fortunately, a Hoysala patrolling jeep was passing by and the miscreants fled the scene on seeing the jeep. The Hoysala staff took Yan to the hospital and got him treated.

Later on watching the CCTV footages in the area the police identified the miscreants who are also history sheeters. The police then arrested Manikanta (23), Vijay (22), Arun Kiran (20), Vijay (22) and Sharath (25).  The police have seized 2 bikes from them, informed DCP Ajay Hilori.
