
The aspirants of ministerial berth are all disappointed because the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has not been successful in discussing the Cabinet reshuffle and expansion with AICC President Sonia Gandhi and wants to wait till Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi returns.
Speaking to media persons at New Delhi’s Karnataka Bhavan after meeting Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said though he held talks with Party President, he could not bring up Cabinet reshuffle issue, as Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi is away and he prefered to wait till he returns. He said he would come again to meet Rahul Gandhi to discuss the issue, reports Kannada Prabha.
Siddaramaiah met Sonia Gandhi at her residence to invite her to inaugurate the125th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar international convention scheduled to be held on July 21,22 and 23 in Bengaluru. There are possibilities of her accepting the invitation.
When media persons questioned him about the controversy regarding the Iftar get together organised at the Udupi Krishna Mutt by Pejavar Swami, he only said “I do not want to comment.” On the same occasion, he also said that Venkaiah Naidu's statement that Hindi is national language cannot be accepted. Hindi is not the national language. State has as much stake in Namma Metro as the Central government. Imposing Hindi in Metro cannot be tolerated, he said. However, he also said that there is no Hindi imposition in Metro as of now, reports Kannada Prabha.
CM Siddaramaiah was in New Delhi to sign for the proposal of Meira Kumar for the president’s post. Congress senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Ministers Jayachandra and Anjaneya were present.
