Prahlad Babu, who is known as BN Prahlad, will contest against Soumya Reddy, daughter of former home minister from Congress, Ramalinga Reddy and Ravikrishna Reddy of AAP.
BJP is trying to cash in on the sympathy votes as BN Prahlad's brother was to contest for the Assembly elections from Jayanagar, but breathed his last while campaigning for the party.
Thus, the election, which was supposed to be held on May 12, was postponed and will be held on June 11 and the results will be announced on June 16.
Earlier, BJP corporators had demanded a ticket to one of the corporators and were against Prahlad getting a ticket.
