The 28-year-old engineer has been identified as Gautham Kumar, hailing from Patna. He was a resident of Sobha Daisy Apartments and was working in Indicubeto at Kadubeesanahalli, Bengaluru.

According to the Times of India report, Gautham was leaning on the four-foot parapet wall in the balcony, when he lost his balance and fell to the ground from the ninth floor.

It is also said that friends partying along with him learnt about the incident only after 15 minutes.

The report also states that according to CCTV footage obtained from the apartment, it is clear that Gautham walked alone to the balcony.

Gautham had come to Bengaluru five years ago and along with three friends had brought the apartment, a few months ago, said the report.
