3-language formula is fine in Namma Metro but Kannada first

Synopsis

Namma Metro should follow the three-language formula, giving preference to Hindi, then English followed by Hindi said Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Anantha Kumar. The announcement can be in Kannada, he said. Centre has sanctioned Rs 5,122.45 crore total drought relief in past three years to State, while earlier UPA Government had given only Rs 3,500 crore.

Namma Metro should follow the three-language formula, like in railways. Prominence should be given to Kannada, and then English followed by Hindi. All announcements can be in Kannada said Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Anantha Kumar.

Speaking a press meet at Shastri Bhavan in New Delhi, he said the railways follow the 3-language formula and there is nothing wrong in Namma Metro following the same. However, he said the language of the State - Kannada - should be given prominence.

Defending the Central government with regard to refusal to waive farm loan, Anantha Kumar said the Central government is sanctioning 42 per cent to State government, according to the recommendations of 14th Fiscal Commission. The subsidy earmarked for rural loan has been increased from Rs 8 lakh crore to Rs 11 lakh crore. The interest on this loan has been reduced by 4 per cent and the Central government is paying that, he explained, reports Kannada Prabha.

The government led by Modi has sanctioned a total of Rs 5,122.45 crore for drought relief to State in the past three years. However, the earlier UPA government had only sanctioned Rs 3,500 crore he commented.

He complained that he has been seeking information about the fodder banks and Go Shalas operating in the State in view of the severe drought but the government is not responding. The reason, he said, is because the State government has not taken sufficient initiative in this regard.
