Three found dead while cleaning sump

Synopsis

The workers were called to clean the newly constructed sump in Gauribidanur If not for the house owner's wife, there would have been four deaths One worker has been rescued and shifted to the hospital

Three workers died when they got down to clean the newly constructed sump at Manchenalli in Gauribidanur. Condition of another worker is said to be critical, reports Kannada Prabha. The deceased have been identified as Nagappa (65), Peddanna (40) and Narayanappa (35), reports Kannada Prabha

Retired Education officer Ramakrishnappa, a resident of Manchenahalli, had called the workers to clean the sump. First Nagappa and Peddanna got down into the sump. When they did not come up after a long time, Narayanappa too went down. When he too did not come up, Janardhan climbed down the sump. Incidentally, Ramakrishnappa’s wife peeped in to see what was happening and to her horror, she saw Janardhan struggling. She immediately screamed for help. Villagers brought all the four workers up only to find three of them dead. They have shifted Janardhan to a hospital in Chikkaballapur and later to Bengaluru hospital. His condition is said to be critical.
