19-year-old girl hangs self, boyfriend carries her body on his back

In yet another case of a teenager losing their life over love, a 19-year-old girl has allegedly hung herself over a relationship  Saddened after the marriage of her lover was fixed with another girl, Hanumanthamma committed suicide in front of the boy The shocked youth, unsure about what to do, tied the body to his back and drove it to a nearby police station.

In a shocking incident in Bellary, a 19-year-old girl hanged herself in front of her boyfriend, who later tied her body to his back and went to the police station on his bike.

The girl, named Hanumanthamma, hailed from Siraguppa taluk and was in love with a fruits and vegetable trader named Daval Sab from the same village. The two had been in a relationship for three years.  

Daval Sab's parents were against this relationship, and they arranged for him to marry to someone else when he refused to give up the affair. 

Even as the date of the wedding was being fixed, Hanumanthamma came to meet Daval, who tried to console her. 

What happened next is not precisely known. For example, there is no indication about whether or not Daval refused to marry her or anything else he may have told her.

As per Daval's following statement to the police, Hanumanthamma hung herself even as they were speaking. 

A shocked Daval lowered the body, tied it to his back and, with no clear idea about what to do next, drove his bike (with the body still tied to his back) to a nearby police station and surrendered.

The police have taken Daval into custody and booked him for inciting the girl to commit suicide. A case in this regard has been filed at the Sirigeri police station in Siraguppa Taluk. The police are investigating the case further.
