Bengaluru commuters who rely on the Namma Metro daily should take note of an important service update. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced a temporary suspension of metro services on a section of the Purple Line on Sunday, 5 April 2026. This brief disruption is part of essential technical maintenance to ensure smooth and safe operations for all passengers.
Metro services will be temporarily suspended for two hours, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am, affecting the stretch between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station-Majestic and Mysuru Road metro station. Services on this section will resume promptly at 9:00 am.
The temporary suspension is required for technical maintenance between Vijayanagar and Attiguppe stations on the Purple Line. These checks are crucial for passenger safety and to ensure the smooth operation of trains along this busy route.
Passengers need not worry about a complete shutdown. Services on other stretches of the metro will continue as usual:
Passengers travelling between Mysuru Road and Majestic during the 7:00–9:00 am window are advised to consider alternate transport options or reschedule their journey for after 9:00 am. BMRCL has chosen this time to minimise inconvenience, as passenger traffic is usually lighter on weekend mornings.
Once maintenance is completed, services between Majestic and Mysuru Road will resume at 9:00 am, allowing commuters to continue their journeys safely and without delays.
