A woman, who underwent treatment for COVID-19 for about three weeks, died at the Tiruvannamalai Government Medical College and Hospital
Chennai: A 55-year-old woman who underwent treatment for coronavirus died in hospital due to sudden cardiac arrest. She underwent treatment for coronavirus for three weeks at Tiruvannamalai Government Medical College and Hospital. On Wednesday morning, the woman's blood pressure shot up in and this led to complications.
After her test results for coronavirus turned out negative twice, she was all set to return home once discharged from hospital, but sadly lost her life. She is the mother of a Tablighi Jamaat attendee who tested negative for the virus. However, she tested positive on April 13 and was immediately admitted to hospital.
A resident of Pallikooda Street in Arni, the woman also suffered from diabetes.
508 new coronavirus cases were reported on May 6 in Tamil Nadu, according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu to 4,058. Among the total people infected as on date, 1,485 have recovered and 33 have passed away.
